Climbing my Inner Mountain

ree

Here I am. On the top of a mountain in Norway. A 1.5-hour hike in minus 8 degrees Celsius with a fabulous group of 12. We don't talk. We focus on our breath. We are all in the Now. We inhale all that is there. The view. The group. Our body. Our presence. A challenge I would have never taken if it wasn't for Daniel Kluken and Ingvild Molenaar

I looked up to this hike ever since I signed up for the trip.

Many people asked me why I did it. For me, I wanted to learn new tools to deal with life inside out. Too many business owners are driven by outside validation. I wanted to experience other ways of disrupting this toxic behavior. I want to help our clients even more with their mindset. But I need to experience it myself first what more is there.

My goal is to connect more with my true self. I keep challenging myself to learn new skills. I want to be able to ignore the noise. Be more in tune with my own body. I want to challenge myself to something I have never experienced before.

What did I learn:

✅ I was truly in tune with my body. (I can't remember the last time before this)

✅ If you just breathe mindfully you can handle much more,

✅ Go inwards and ignore the noise. You know what matters to you.

So many business owners are running their lives based on outside confirmation. That can be extremely lonely and stressful. I know, because I have felt this way too. I learned I am no longer alone. It was not just me on top of the mountain. My body was there with me.

I call it Team Simon. And together we are so much stronger. Never again I have to deal with something alone. I got Team Simon to back me up. My body knows what it needs. You just need to learn how to ask.

The trip was far more than climbing a mountain. It was climbing your hashtag#innermountain. It contained breathing, meditation, yoga as well as cold exposure.

All I am asking in this post is to close your eyes for a minute. Breathe in deeply. Check in your body. And listen. Experience what is happening in your body. Trust me your body has a lot to share. It has been with you your whole life. It stuck by you all these years. No questions asked. It is time to tune in and start listening.

Ask some of my fellow travellers if you don’t believe me ;-)
